History of Hip Hop and BBoy For Life

December 26 2007, 9:42 PM

Breakdance, breaking, b-boying or b-girling came from the South Bronx, New York City in the 1970's from the cool kids that lived there. Originally b boys danced to funk or hip hop music.  And its cool when the beat is looped, cut or remixed, and when the break in the song is extended.  B Boying today is best known with hip hop dance music and styles. A breakdancer, breaker, b-boy or b-girl refers to a person who practices breakdancing. A  slang term "to break on somebody" or from the "break" in a record.

In no particular order, big respect dem dooope effn tyght beatz!

There is so much I could write about BBoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I missed something  that the world should know give me a shout !  And I know I missed other bboy elements,  graff, Doug-E Fresh, the first famous beatboxers. Also freestyling Roxanne Shante and  the amazing beatboxing Biz Markie, etc etc etc. and new Beat Box Joseph at "Nouvelle  star" Joseph de la nouvelle. Big respect, Dont stop!  Did you know; "B-boying, or  breakdancing for the layman, the spontaneous and creative style of competitive,  acrobatic and pantomimic dancing", well this definition makes me sick and wanna quit.  Totally kills the vibe!!  Dont box me in a definition. Key word here is elementary flow.  Aight.

We all have are tastes and haterzeverywhere so dont hate on other peoples choices.  Welcome all countries & BBoy styles and knowledge, understanding, respect for Hip Hop and its roots are vital. Bless. Real hip hop doesn't discriminate, Real hip hop - one world, Peace Unity and Having Fun,  its a way of life, sounds familiar.
Lets press rewind on the tape cassette on our boombox to old school bboy music if you got em milk crates, damn we cant cause we got mp3's now. Saves us from the tapes gettin eatin up from rewinding or lugging all them records!!!!  lol, init.

To all the peps, kids around the world, dont be a biter. keep it real, Keep it fresh,  Keep it raw, Keep it original. Special thanks to DJ Kool Herc's block parties in the  South Bronx, making it all happen, Word up!  One luv. pEace Out! Safe to all my bluds.  And most importantly Everyone keep rockin it and have fun. Nuff said! Lets get back to the jam session.
